Canon Singapore Service Center, MOVED

So, on the second day of my Australia trip, my Canon EF 24-105 F4 L IS USM lens decided to go on strike. AAARRRGH!!!!. Anyways, upon reaching singapore 2 weeks later, I sent it in for servicing. Canon Singapore’s service centre has moved to from Harbour Front to Fusionopolis. Here’s their website link to their new address: http://www.canon.com.sg/local/sg/service/index.jsp

The issue was the power diaphragm. With an estimated repair cost of $250 sgd but the actual cost for repairs (inclusive of the usual awesome cleaning job) was $180 and change. However, being a member of CPS (Canon Professional Services) I got 30% discount. Here’s the link for CPS https://www.canon-asia.com/cps/singapore/. It’s kinda strange that I had to ask for the discount, seeing as it’s not difficult at all to have that info in the system. Oh well.

The service was a huge improvement over previous visits. Even my wife and kids noticed. I hope it holds, but I hope I don’t have to witness it. The time it took to get my lens back, surprisingly was only 3 days. I dropped it off on the 9th and picked it up on the 11th.

In summary, the service centre has moved, this is the second time in roughly 6 years that I had to change the power diaphragm of this lens and you have to ask for your CPS discount.

CHEERS, Mate. (I love Australia)!!!
